Racism-Collage
My cause for my collage is
racism. Racism is prejudice,
discrimination or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based
on such a belief. There are people
in some countries that are being treated very badly because of racism. People have been killed because others
have thought that people of a different race have no value or should not be treated
equally to everyone else when we now know that everyone is equal. We should also be treating people of
different race just like we want to be treated. I picked racism because it used to be very big back then but
it still happens today in some countries or states. I also picked it
because racism has a lot of information on it, which gives me more of a variety
of pictures to choose from. I
chose these pictures because they describe what racism is very well and that
racism should stop everywhere in the world. Another reason I chose this
topic is because I have learned a lot about racism over my school years. We as a developed country can have one
of those messages from the government of Canada commercials. In this commercial we can show an
example of racism that is very bad to show people that it should not be
happening and that it is terrible.
There are also campaigns out there that are fighting to stop racism. Canada
could also make a law if they haven’t that people that show any signs of racism
will be charged. The people of
Canada should know that racism is bad and that these campaigns should go to the
US were there is probably more racism then Canada.

Questions to the video
1.)What are the implications of cool hunting for the
development of new ideas, new music, new art forms etc.?
The implications of cool hunting are good because companies
are getting to know what’s cool for people so they can make a new product and
sell it for allot of money.
Companies get a head start over the other competing companies from cool
hunting.
2.) Are marketers concerned with the well-being of the
consumer? Do they answer to the
customers? If not, whom do they answer to? Is marketing to teens different from
marketing to adults?
Yes marketers are answering to the customers because if they
did not they would be an unsuccessful company. You have to sell what the majority of the people want. Yes sometimes it may be different but
sometimes the adults may be into teen type stuff.
3.) Various social scientists devote their careers to
helping us understand people who are different from us. For example,
anthropologists study the structures and customs of a society or a community.
Ethnographers are anthropologists who focus on looking at the impact of culture
on people’s lives. Are there parallels between “cool hunters” and
anthropologists? Between market researchers and ethnographers? Why might adults
see teen society or culture as so different of closed that they need researchers
to tell them what your life is really like?
Yes there are parallels between anthropologists and “cool
hunters” because they are both studying humans and what they like to do. Adults may have done things differently
when they were teens which is why adults may see things differently.
4.)If you were training a “cool hunter” to come to your
school, what would you train them to look for?
I would train them to look for what the students use like
cell phones but I wouldn’t look for what to wear because we have uniforms.

Day 3: Architecture
I chose to take the picture this way because I went to Italy and in Rome I saw ancient architecture there, so I took a picture of my Catholic Church. You can see the repetitive peaks at the top of the church. This makes me feel religious.

Day 2: Eyes
This is a picture of my brother's eyes. I chose to take the picture this way because my brother and I do a lot of fun things together. It reminds me that I like doing things with my brother like playing video games and playing road hockey. This picture makes me feel joyful because I made him laugh.
Day one: Faceless Self-Portrait
I took the picture this way because it shows my hockey jersey and helmet. I chose to do that because hockey is my favourite sport. I also showed my number because that is my favorite number and it was the number I wore last year. I play for the Flamborough Sabres. I took this picture by using a self timer. This picture makes me realize how much I enjoy playing hockey.
