Questions to the video

1.)What are the implications of cool hunting for the development of new ideas, new music, new art forms etc.?

The implications of cool hunting are good because companies are getting to know what’s cool for people so they can make a new product and sell it for allot of money.  Companies get a head start over the other competing companies from cool hunting.

2.) Are marketers concerned with the well-being of the consumer?  Do they answer to the customers? If not, whom do they answer to? Is marketing to teens different from marketing to adults?

Yes marketers are answering to the customers because if they did not they would be an unsuccessful company.  You have to sell what the majority of the people want.  Yes sometimes it may be different but sometimes the adults may be into teen type stuff.

3.) Various social scientists devote their careers to helping us understand people who are different from us. For example, anthropologists study the structures and customs of a society or a community. Ethnographers are anthropologists who focus on looking at the impact of culture on people’s lives. Are there parallels between “cool hunters” and anthropologists? Between market researchers and ethnographers? Why might adults see teen society or culture as so different of closed that they need researchers to tell them what your life is really like?

Yes there are parallels between anthropologists and “cool hunters” because they are both studying humans and what they like to do.  Adults may have done things differently when they were teens which is why adults may see things differently.

4.)If you were training a “cool hunter” to come to your school, what would you train them to look for?

I would train them to look for what the students use like cell phones but I wouldn’t look for what to wear because we have uniforms.
